Acrylic, 600mm x 600mm

After the first Christchurch Earthquake on Sept 4th 2010, despite numerous aftershocks, we believed the worst was behind us, . Early in 2011 we were travelling in Borneo when an unfinished building in Kota Kinabalu had become canvas to street art. It had the look of a damaged building and brought back many memories. Soon after returning home the more damaging earthquake hit on Feb 22nd. This painting is deeply personal to me as I tried to deal with something that felt so unreal.
